Publications on the stakeholder workshop on recommendations for transformative journal contracts with publication service providers
This report summarizes the results of a workshop on the further development of transformative journal contracts with publication service providers and an associated catalog of criteria. The results have also been summarized in a table.
The aim of the Transform2Open project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) is to further develop budgets, criteria, competencies and associated processes at scientific institutions relating to the financial dimensions of the open access transformation.
One of the central aspects of this is the project formulated in the work package “Further development and internationalization of a catalog of criteria” to support and promote the further development of the “Recommendations for transformative journal contracts with publication service providers” published by the Alliance of German Science Organizations at the end of 2022, originally developed as part of the Open Access Strategy of the Alliance of German Science Organizations, into a broad and internationally applicable catalog of criteria.
To discuss this further development, Transform2Open hosted an online workshop on October 16, 2023, where GASCO members of German institutions, members of the Forum 13+ working group, research funders (German Research Foundation) and the authors of the Alliance paper were invited to identify the challenges in implementation, existing best practices and possibly missing aspects. In addition, valuable content, procedures and processes for the further development of the recommendations were discussed.
